A pool’s filter tank plays a vital role in keeping the water clean, balanced, and free of debris. Over time, constant pressure cycles and exposure to the elements can cause the filter housing to weaken or even crack. When this happens, the filter can’t safely be repaired — a full filter tank replacement is the solution.
At Aquarius Pools, we recently replaced a customer’s cracked filter tank that was leaking water from the side seam. Cracks like this typically occur from age, high operating pressure, or freeze expansion. Once the shell is compromised, it no longer maintains proper filtration pressure, which risks both poor filtration and equipment damage.
We removed the damaged tank and installed a new high-efficiency model rated for the system’s flow rate. This resulted in improved circulation, balanced pressure, and peace of mind for the homeowner.
If you notice water pooling near your filter or hear air hissing from the housing, it’s best to schedule an inspection right away. A cracked filter tank will worsen quickly and requires replacement before it fails completely.
